Services · Aluminum

Aluminum tube filling services for ointments & creams.

Aluminum tubes are commonly used for products that require strong barrier protection from light, air, and moisture—pharmaceutical ointments, medicated creams, specialty cosmetics, and industrial formulations.

What is aluminum tube filling?

Aluminum tube filling involves dispensing product into the tube and sealing it using a folding or crimping process. This method creates a secure seal that protects the contents while maintaining the integrity of the formulation.

One of the main advantages of aluminum tubes is their excellent barrier properties, which help extend product shelf life and prevent contamination. They also provide a professional appearance commonly associated with pharmaceutical and medical products. Brands that require strong packaging protection often choose aluminum tubes for products that are sensitive to environmental exposure.

Aluminum tube filling is the process of filling pre-manufactured aluminum tubes with finished bulk product and sealing them by folding and crimping the tube tail to create a secure, tamper-resistant seal. Aluminum tubes are commonly used for:

  • Cosmetic and skincare creams
  • Ointments and balms
  • Medical and cosmeceutical products
  • Specialty personal care formulations

Plastic tubes are one of the most widely used packaging formats in the cosmetic and personal care industries—lightweight, durable, and ideal for dispensing creams, lotions, gels, and cleansers.

Plastic tube filling involves precisely dispensing product into pre-manufactured tubes and sealing them using heat or ultrasonic technology. This process ensures the tube remains airtight while maintaining product freshness and shelf stability.

Many cosmetic brands prefer plastic tubes because they provide flexibility in design, allow for attractive labeling and printing, and are cost-effective for large production runs. Professional plastic tube filling services help brands maintain consistent product volumes and high-quality packaging standards across every production batch.

Company

A cosmetic tube filling company for skincare & beauty brands.

Skincare tube filling services designed for brands that demand precision, cleanliness, and consistency. Our contract tube filling process supports growth at every stage.

WeFillTubes is a cosmetic tube filling company that helps skincare and beauty brands package their products in professional squeeze tubes. Tube packaging is widely used in the cosmetic industry because it protects formulations, improves shelf life, and provides convenient dispensing for consumers.

Our tube filling services support a variety of cosmetic formulations including creams, lotions, serums, masks, sunscreens, cleansers, and specialty skincare treatments. We work with both plastic and aluminum tubes depending on the packaging requirements of the product.

A professional cosmetic tube filling company provides the equipment and expertise necessary to fill tubes accurately while maintaining product quality and consistency. This process typically includes product handling, filling, sealing, inspection, and packaging preparation. Cosmetic brands rely on specialized tube filling companies to ensure their products are packaged efficiently while maintaining the high quality standards expected in the beauty and personal care industry.

Tube advantages

Packaging tubes made from metal, plastic, laminate, or injection-molded materials provide efficient, attractive, and reliable packaging solutions. Tube packaging is widely used across cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food, household, and industrial products because it protects contents while offering convenient dispensing. Their durability, barrier protection, and ease of use have made squeeze tubes an essential packaging format in everyday products.

Metal tube advantages

Metal tubes are airtight and impermeable, preventing contamination and eliminating “suckback,” which helps keep products fresh during repeated use. Internal linings allow compatibility with highly alkaline or acidic products, and metal tubes are the only tube type that is completely seamless, providing superior protection and product stability.

Plastic tube advantages

Plastic tubes are lightweight, durable, leak-proof, and nonbreakable. They are commonly used for cosmetics and personal care products such as hand creams, shampoos, facial cleansers, masks, and lotions, as well as food, pharmaceutical, and industrial products. Plastic tubes also have shape memory, meaning they return to their original form after squeezing and maintain a smooth, attractive appearance throughout use.

Laminate tube advantages

Laminated tubes combine the flexibility of plastic with barrier protection similar to metal tubes. They maintain a premium look and feel while protecting the contents from air and contamination. Originally used for toothpaste packaging, laminate tubes are now widely used for denture adhesives, artist paints, hair-care products, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical products. A specialized laminate option is Polyfoil, which provides enhanced barrier protection.

Injection molded tubes with in-mold label advantages

Injection molded tubes with in-mold labeling (IML) combine the decorative and barrier benefits of laminate tubes with the production flexibility of plastic tubes. This process allows photographic-quality graphics across the entire tube surface. Lead times are often shorter because the tube and cap are produced together, and the packaging offers strong sustainability benefits since the tube, label, and cap are made from 100% polypropylene.

Sustainable tube packaging

Tube packaging is an environmentally responsible option, and manufacturers continue to develop more sustainable tube materials and components.

Most tubes, including aluminum, plastic, laminate, and injection molded tubes can be recycled through appropriate waste streams. Aluminum tubes are especially sustainable because they can be recycled indefinitely without losing quality and retain about 95% of the original production energy.

Plastic and laminate tubes, typically made from polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP), can also be recycled into new products or used for energy recovery. The tube industry continues to improve sustainability through lighter tube designs, post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials, and bio-based plastics, helping reduce environmental impact while maintaining product protection.

Services · Outsourcing

Outsource tube filling for cosmetic and skincare products.

Many cosmetic and personal care brands choose to outsource tube filling in order to increase production capacity and streamline manufacturing operations.

Outsourcing allows companies to work with specialized manufacturers who already have the equipment, expertise, and infrastructure required to fill and seal tubes efficiently.

Outsourcing tube filling can help brands reduce operational costs, eliminate the need for expensive machinery, and avoid the challenges associated with managing a production facility. It also allows businesses to scale quickly when product demand increases.

At WeFillTubes, we work with brands around the world that need reliable tube filling services for skincare, cosmetic, and OTC products. Our team supports a wide range of tube packaging formats including plastic squeeze tubes, laminate tubes, and aluminum tubes.

By outsourcing tube filling to an experienced partner, brands can focus on marketing, product development, and distribution while production is handled by specialists who understand tube packaging.

What outsourcing replaces

  • No equipment purchase, maintenance or breakdown delays
  • No production floor or specialized staffing to manage
  • No custom tooling bill for common sizes
  • Capacity that scales from small batch to high volume

Resources · Tube types

Types of cosmetic tubes: plastic vs aluminum vs laminate.

Cosmetic tubes are one of the most widely used packaging formats in the skincare and personal care industries. Tubes provide convenient dispensing, protect product formulations, and allow brands to create attractive packaging that stands out on store shelves.

There are several types of cosmetic tubes used across the beauty and pharmaceutical industries, each offering unique advantages depending on the product being packaged.

Plastic tubes

Plastic tubes are among the most common options. These tubes are lightweight, flexible, and ideal for products such as lotions, cleansers, sunscreens, and moisturizers. Plastic tubes are typically sealed using hot air or ultrasonic sealing methods. Plastic tube filling services →

Laminate tubes

Laminate tubes combine layers of plastic and aluminum to provide additional barrier protection while maintaining the flexibility of plastic packaging. These tubes are commonly used for premium cosmetic products and formulations that require additional protection from air or light exposure.

Aluminum tubes

Aluminum tubes offer the highest level of barrier protection. These tubes are commonly used for pharmaceutical ointments, medicated creams, and specialty cosmetic formulations. Aluminum tubes are sealed using a crimping process that creates a secure and tamper-resistant closure. Aluminum tube filling services →

Also in the mix

  • Airless tubes for sensitive, preservative-light formulas
  • Eco-friendly and PCR (post-consumer recycled) tubes
  • Custom and oval tube formats
  • Injection molded tubes with in-mold labeling (IML)

We work with all styles and types of cosmetic tubes—plastic, laminated, aluminum, squeeze, airless, eco-friendly, custom and oval. Not sure which fits your formula? See how each type is sealed →

Resources · Sealing

Cosmetic tube sealing methods.

Sealing is one of the most important steps in the tube filling process. After product is filled into a cosmetic tube, the open end must be sealed to protect the formulation and ensure the package remains airtight during shipping and storage.

Different types of tubes require different sealing methods depending on the material used.

Hot air sealing (what we use)

Plastic tubes are most commonly sealed using hot air sealing. This process heats the inside of the tube opening and presses the material together to create a strong, permanent seal. Hot air sealing is widely used for cosmetic products packaged in polyethylene tubes.

Ultrasonic sealing

Ultrasonic sealing is another method used for plastic and laminate tubes. Instead of heat, ultrasonic vibrations are used to melt the tube material and create a sealed closure. This process is precise and often used for specialty packaging applications.

Hot jaw tube sealing

Hot Jaw tube sealing is a traditional tube sealing method that uses heated crimping jaws to apply heat and pressure to the outside of a tube. The heat travels through the tube material to soften the inner walls before the jaws compress the tube to create a seal.

Compared to modern tube sealing technologies, Hot Jaw sealing is less efficient because the heat must transfer from the outside inward, resulting in longer sealing times. It can also produce a less consistent and less professional seal appearance than advanced methods like hot air sealing or ultrasonic tube sealing.

Crimp sealing for aluminum

Aluminum tubes are sealed by folding and crimping the tube tail, creating a tight, leak-resistant closure that prevents air from re-entering the tube and maintains product freshness and integrity. More on aluminum tube filling →

Over the years we consistently improved our processes, equipment, tooling and facility to be as effective as possible. We are a small team that is automated and extremely efficient in what we do. Our goal is build a long term business relationship ensuring that you are assured that we will always get the job done properly and professionally to the highest quality standards. We want you to be confident that YOUR clients will be happy with their filled tubes.

Certifications

At We Fill Tubes, we are proud of our achievements. Our list of accomplishments includes reaching certification to the ISO 9001 quality management system, the ISO 22716 Cosmetic cGMP standards and the FDA's Voluntary Cosmetic Registration Program. In our pursuit of perfection, we found opportunity for improvement in our management, documentation and processes. Applying ourselves for over a year to develop the Quality Management System we now operate with, we found that the ISO standards were a wonderful platform for our development and growth. Once we developed the core structure for our QMS (9001), we decided to integrate the cosmetic cGMP standards (22716), as they are directly in line with our business.

ISO 9001

The ISO 9001 standard is more commonplace, as it can be applied to practically any business model. Our ISO 9001 registration is evidence that we have developed and maintain a quality management system, designed and tested to provide a very high level of quality in our services and customer support. Another notable component of this standard is the continual improvement requirements, ensuring that opportunities for improvement are assessed and applied. It also applies framework that ensures mistakes, when they happen, are dealt with efficiently and are not repeated. We acknowledge and embrace this continual improvement mentality as a daily function of our business.

ISO 22716

The ISO 22716 standard is much more specific in its requirements, as it deals specifically with current Good Manufacturing Practices for the Cosmetics industry. These GMPs include requirements for material handling, cleaning, validation, lab work, and addresses numerous other pertinent categories. Applying these industry-standard practices and controls to our processes and documentation ensures our customers receive the highest quality of service that can be provided. This ISO cGMP standard is now seamlessly integrated into our QMS.
